A large complex such as the Knolls had a long history of good use of it’s previous space. In renovating the clubhouse program they client closed off the fireplace, replaced it with a built-in table and media center. And the Kitchen area had to be durable for the many large social events that went on there regularly. All these considerations help craft a highly durable and modern space.

A more modern palette of materials and colors were incorporated into the space. With the intent to keep the space comfortable and light wood textures were and cool colors were developed for the spaces. Minimal storage was dictated for the program since all users only needed the space for a single reserved event. Lighting, including hidden shelf lighting, was an important factor in giving the spaces a modern feel.
